This section of the Northville-Placid Trail is probably the least enjoyable. Half of this section is trail and the other half is paved/dirt road. A 4 mile section ends up crossing private property and access is currently only for those doing a thru hike.

NPT: LONG LAKE-LAKE DURANT

This 15 mile section starts at the Route 28N trailhead and travels south to Route 28/30 at Lake Durant. The one major climb on the entire NPT trail is found here with a climb over the shoulder of Blue Ridge. The trail is 80% amazing running and 20% hiking.
