SHELVING ROCK

I headed down to Lake George yesterday to meet up with my brother Jeremy and friend Ben. Many of my local trails are still ice and snow covered, but down south they are nice and dry. I am past my peak of training for my upcoming race The Massanutten 100M in Virginia next month. I wanted to get out on some rugged trails that will be similar to the race. I am not very familiar with the Lake George trail network. Its Jeremy’s backyard so he led. The section we hit was very rocky and steep climbs/descents mixed in with awesome carriage/mountain roads. The area was a maze of trails that you could easily get lost in if you weren’t paying attention! The loop ended up being 6.5 miles with 2000 ft of gain.
